At long last, the words we all longed to hear “Here are the keys to your building” and “The Small Business Development Center can now move in”. Imagine the elation that the New Mexico State University Grants Campus and NMSU Grants SBDC felt after hearing the first words of “It’s a Go!” for construction. In November, 2007 renovation construction began on the newly purchased building, formerly known as the Bank of America Building. Renovations were completed by February, 2008. The staff, Clemente Sanchez, Director; Geraldine L. Ortiz, Business Advisor, and Pattie Alexander, Administrative Assistant moved into the new building in March, 2008.
The purchase was made financially possible by legislative appropriations of which 61% was for the purchase and remodeling of the building. An additional 39% for remodeling of the total project cost was appropriated from New Mexico State University Grants Facilities budget. _________________________________________________

Small Business Development Center SBDC
A sincere thank you to all whose support and dedication made our Center a reality. A special thank you goes to Retired Senator Joseph A. Fidel, who obtained the legislative appropriation for the purchase and remodeling of the new NMSU Grants Small Business Development Center.
As we move forward into our new office space, we recently received our classroom desks, chairs, and a portion of our IT equipment. Our IT equipment will include laptops to be used by clients for computer classes that will support their entrepreneurial endeavors. We currently have two computer work stations, work rooms for planning and counseling, and have plans to expand our library resources. The new building houses classroom space that has a maximum occupancy of 35 students. Should you find yourself in our area, please come by visit and say hello or if we can be of service our doors are always open.
