A member of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network (NMSBDC) and partnership with the U.S. Small Business Association.

We are committed to providing quality direct assistance, entrepreneurial education and resource links for potential and existing small businesses to strengthen the economy of New Mexico. Whether you already own a small business or are thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, the Small Business Development at New Mexico State University can help you climb the ladder of success. The SBDC offers FREE management consulting, training course (nominal fees may apply), and government procurement assistance for western New Mexico business.

Silver Lining Services, LLC is a home care agency founded in July of 2002 offering short-term, temporary relief to those who are caring for family members who might otherwise require permanent placement in a facility outside the home. The agency is known for its personalized touch, with the goal of making each client feel valued and respected. Silver Lining supports the highest level of independent functioning for all individuals and works to improve the quality of life for those of any age who may be candidates for institutional care. Each individual is cared for in his or her own home and community.
Silver Lining currently serves 400 clients in the greater Cibola and McKinley County areas and employs 430 people. Services include Case Management, Skilled Nursing, Homemaker/Personal Care, Respite, Staff Training, Interpreter and Advocacy services. The company's certifications, accreditations and memberships include the New Mexico Association for Home Hospice Care, and the national home care accreditation association, the Council of Quality and Leadership.

The NMSU Grants Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has provided Silver Lining with financial management counseling, payroll support services, and real estate and tax planning consulting. Founder Kathy Chavez stated, "The SBDC has been instrumental in helping us to maintain our financial health and providing resources services in forms of educational activities, business forums, and seminars."
