New Mexico New Hires Directory -- New Hire Reporting Training

New Mexico law (§50-13-1 to 50-13-4) and the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) of 1996, 42 U.S.C. 653A, requires all employers to report newly hired and re-hired employees to a state directory within 20 days of their hire date. Failure to report may result in a fine up to $500. New Hire Reporting is a simple way employers can have a positive impact on the lives of children across New Mexico. It expedites the collection of child support payments, and helps track chronically noncompliant parents. It aids in detecting fraud in areas of Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment benefits as well.
