A Good Business Plan Is Like A Road Map, You Need One To Negotiate The Twists And Turns On The Route To Success
2011 CLIENT OF THE YEAR
Luis Alvidrez started Upward Motion Personal Training in 2009 in the SE part of Nob Hill. The studio boasts 5 trainers who all have different fields of expertise, ranging from general fitness to weight loss to athletic training to non-medical corrective exercise and injury rehabilitation. There are currently 4 full time employees/trainers including Luis and 2 part time employees. He originally came to the ASV-SBDC for help with marketing and finances as he wanted to grow his company.
Part of what makes UMPT different than others is that they focus on the individual as opposed to the masses. Another point is that they help people who have done as much as they can do with a physical therapist but still need help in both recovery and fitness goals. They offer personal training designed to fit the individual client as well as team and group trainings. In addition to that, they offer nutritional assistance/guidance for both those with weight problems, and those who want improvements in overall health to go with their fitness programs.
The ASV-SBDC has helped me by providing exceptional guidance and positive reinforcement. When I started this business it was one of the worst economic climates in the past 50 years. The ASVSBDC has helped me become successful despite those odds. SBDC is a valuable source for every business that needs a fresh and new perspective to their business. If you want profitable company, talk to the SBDC.
In the last year, UMPT has expanded by adding another space used for group trainings as well as giving extra space for personal training. They have expanded the group fitness classes from 3 per week to 23 offering a variety of classes to fit levels of the clients. They have also expanded in the numbers of clients served and have increased in business by 25% over the last year. UMPT has been recognized as one of Albuquerque top 5 best health clubs and Luis was recognized as one of the top 5 best personal trainers voted by Albuquerque Magazine.
